St. Gregory is Tyler’s oldest private, Christian elementary school, serving grades PreK-5 and the city’s only U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon School, a distinction earned by scoring in the top 15 percent of the nation on national standardized tests. Each year since 1982, the U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon Award honors public and private K-12 schools that are academically superior. The Department seeks out schools whose students attain and maintain high academic goals. Blue Ribbon Schools serve as models for other schools across the nation.
